Welcome to Tenderfoot Press
LLC, established in 2008, is proud to make its
debut with the publication of its first book, Stepping
Tenderfoot’s Guide to the Principles, Practices, and
Pleasures of Countryside Walking, written
by Eleanor Garrell Berger.
An engaging, lighthearted primer on
paths, this detailed travelogue is based on the author’s
experiences walking over 1,000 miles of pathways, mostly
in Great Britain, over the past decade.
Eleanor’s first book, was joyfully produced
with the help of talented professionals, who live and
in the Champlain Valley region of New York and Vermont.
The book was designed by Sara Kurak and edited by Holly
Crawford. Elayne Sears created its cover and illustrated
with sixteen original sketches. The Tenderfoot Press
website is the
work of Gary Lambert.
If you have ever been tempted to walk a
little further, for a little longer, on
an unfamiliar path, we think you’ll enjoy this candid,
lighthearted guide, which describes the “how to,” the
“what it’s like,” and
the “why you’ll love it” aspects of long-distance
walking in Great Britain and beyond.
So, reach for your walking stick and
begin your journey here—with the stories, essays, quips,
and tips in Stepping Out.
